Dr Czapik spoke at this meeting. Excellent both from the view of point of contents and speech. Clear, logical, interesting to the last. We were most awfully proud of him and glad about it. This was a good meeting altogether. Mrs Hajos came with Marietta these last two days. – Mentioned this evenings Oration for men to Ervin who meant to go tonight with friends. To my surprise he didn’t need much persuading and they went there in the evening. As I meant to tell Dr. Cz. about it yesterday, but forgot to rang him up in the afternoon. Found out he was there last year but didn’t know it was to be to night. He sounded most surprized and touched and grateful. Couldn’t imagine how on earth I thought of him. He was so grateful and moved that it quite embarrassed me. Evidently such altruistic traits as simple unselfishness or (empty space) do not show very clearly in my beautiful character. He promised to go if possible with the result that I was awfully anxious all the time that all should. I’m sorry to say my efforts to persuade Marietta to persuade his dear brother were in vain. Same happened at Gyula bá, but his dear little boy was out too.
