What a funny day. Mother was called to the ‘phone twice by relations who meant to come to see her but actually didn’t come. An old admirer rang me up in the afternoon, strictly on business though still our talk was rather mixed with unconscious like streaks. Phoned to Dr. L. later and we made an appointment for tomorrow at last. Was at a Lettish lecture in the Külügyi, which was rather good. In German. The gent. couldn’t pronounce the ö-s and ü-s (i). It sounded funny. The end was the nicest though, met Mrs Berényi and dear old colleogue Fayer. We were both openly enchanted. The talk which followed was the most interesting since ages, about Germany, Hitler + Rosenberg + their ideologies. As both Mrs B. + Fayer are stout Catholics I was glad to be on of the talkers. Fayer seems to be flying about the continent like a wandering Jew. He is much nicer than he used to be, a cosmopolitan and it was awfully nice to talk to him. I’m so glad to have met the man always liked him. Apparently he was glad too.
